Our verdict: worth keeping an eye on
WATCH. Durable execution with retries and step-level observability is the one primitive our cron sprawl (Vercel cron + GitHub Actions + PC Task Scheduler + launchd) genuinely lacks. But self-hosting needs Postgres + Redis + ClickHouse on the PC, and the scheduled-jobs registry plus taskdriver Monitor already answer 'did it run'. Adopt only when a job needs multi-step retry semantics we cannot fake.
