Our verdict: worth borrowing ideas from
Self-hosted search API + MCP bundling SearXNG, zero API keys. Worth mining for its post-fetch layer specifically: result dedupe/scoring, paywall detection, prompt-injection scrubbing of fetched pages, and a multi-strategy extraction fallback chain - all things webget does not do yet. The SearXNG half is lower priority: WebSearch only fails 5.1% and a self-hosted instance is a 24/7 service that would have to live on the PC.
