  8. Anthropic · Claude Code

    Claude Code 2.1.239

    2 new38 fixes19 other

Added the one-time fullscreen renderer offer on Bedrock, Vertex, Foundry and other previously excluded setups; new installs there now start in fullscreen. Added /claude-api upgrade to migrate Python projects from anthropic 0.x to 1.x, and updated the skill's Python reference for 1.x (timeouts use anthropic.Timeout, not httpx.Timeout).

  9. DeepSeek · New model

    DeepSeek-V4-Flash-Vision-Exp Release

Today, the new multimodal vision understanding model DeepSeek-V4-Flash-Vision-Exp is now available on the DeepSeek API platform. This is an experimental model that can be accessed by setting model='deepseek-v4-flash-vision-exp'. * For the Code Agent text tasks in the public benchmark sets, the DeepSeek family models were tested using the DeepSeek Harness minimal mode as the framework, with the max effort level, topp=0.95, and temperature=1.0; in the ApexBench and Agents' Last Exam evaluations, the text model DeepSeek-V4-Flash ignores the multimodal elements within them.

  10. Google · Antigravity

Workspace path resolution against current working directory, compaction event deduplication, and Vertex auth…

Resolves relative workspace paths against the current working directory, prevents duplicate compaction hook dispatches and compaction index inflation, and adds support for Vertex AI gateway authentication overrides.

  11. Anthropic · Claude Code

    Claude Code 2.1.238

    3 new23 fixes13 other

Added claude self-hosted-runner --defer-shutdown-max-min : on SIGTERM, keep serving attached sessions, park what is left after that many minutes, then exit.

  12. Anthropic · Claude Code

    Claude Code 2.1.237

    1 new1 fix

Added a built-in "Concise" output style: Claude leads with results and skips preamble and narration, while doing the work just as thoroughly. Select it under Output style in /config.

  13. Anthropic · Claude API

We’ve released v1.0 of the Python SDK

The SDK’s HTTP layer moves from httpx to httpx2, a maintained, API-compatible fork: build custom http_client, Timeout, and transport objects from httpx2 (the DefaultHttpxClient helpers are unchanged), and call httpx2.alias_httpx() at startup if you rely on tracing or mocking libraries that patch httpx. v1.0 requires Python 3.10 or later and removes long-deprecated surface, including the legacy Text Completions API, the temperature, top_p, and top_k parameters on Messages methods, and the tool runner’s client-side compaction_control. On the async client,.with_raw_response results now need await response.parse(), and AnthropicBedrock now raises an error when no AWS region is configured instead of defaulting to us-east-1. The computer use and browser use toolsets (computer_toolset_20260801 and browser_toolset_20260801) are now available on Google Cloud for Claude Fable 5, Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Opus 4.8.

  14. OpenAI · Codex app

    Codex and ChatGPT updates

Apple Messages: Use the Apple Messages plugin to read and search Messages chats on your Mac and prepare or send messages. It's available on all plans in the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. You can use the plugin in ChatGPT Work and Codex. By default, ChatGPT sends messages only after you approve the message and its recipients. Site co-editing: Where Site collaboration is available, owners can invite active members of the same workspace as editors. Editors can read the Site's live database data, update the Site, save versions, and publish changes after the owner publishes the Site for the first time. Owners retain control of the audience, settings, analytics, ownership, version restoration, and editor access. Editable Site URLs: Where URL editing is available, owners can change an existing Site's ChatGPT-hosted address without creating another deployment. The previous address redirects to the new URL. Custom domains are a separate, existing feature and aren't changed by this setting. Computer History in Europe: Computer History is now available in the EEA, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom for ChatGPT Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in the ChatGPT desktop app on macOS. It's off by default and requires Memories. Business and Enterprise administrators must enable access before workspace members can choose to turn it on. Shared thread snapshots: On all Codex plans, share a read-only snapshot of a local Codex thread from the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS. The snapshot doesn't update when the original thread changes. Personal-account links can be opened by anyone with the link; workspace-account links are limited to members of the originating workspace. Codex redacts known secret patterns, but review the shared content because sensitive content may remain. View or revoke links in ChatGPT data controls, under Shared links. Unified pinned threads: Keep the same pinned chats across the ChatGPT desktop app and iOS.

Consolidated agent execution harness for consistent tool, hook, and prompt behavior, alongside fixes for slash command visibility, Vim insert mode task navigation, and Ogg audio/video attachment MIME types.

  18. Google · Antigravity

Remote Control, faster project switching, and more

This update introduces Remote Control to drive and monitor agent sessions on your local device from any browser, alongside core performance gains, improved sidebar navigation, and cleaner error recovery.

  19. Anthropic · Claude Code

    Claude Code 2.1.236

    3 new16 fixes14 other

Added ANTHROPIC_DEFAULT_MODEL environment variable: sets the model new sessions start on, while a /model pick still overrides it and persists across restarts (unlike ANTHROPIC_MODEL). Added notify_when_idle to cross-session SendMessage: ask another Claude Code session on this machine to send one notice when it next goes idle — opt-in, one-shot, no polling (macOS and Linux).

  20. Google · Gemini CLI

    Gemini CLI 0.56.0

  21. Anthropic · Claude API

The computer use tool is out of beta on the Claude API as the computer_toolset_20260801 toolset: no beta…

Earlier beta versions remain available. Upgrading an existing integration changes the request shape and tool handling; see Migrate from computer_20251124. We’ve launched the browser use tool (browser_toolset_20260801), a client toolset for driving a browser that your application hosts. Both toolsets are available for Claude Fable 5, Claude Mythos 5, Claude Opus 5, Claude Sonnet 5, and Claude Opus 4.8 on the Claude API. The Files API is out of beta on the Claude API. Agent Skills and the Skills API (/v1/skills) are out of beta on the Claude API. The Admin API user-management endpoints for Claude Enterprise (claude.ai) organizations (members, invites, groups, and custom roles) are out of beta. You can now restrict which sites a Claude Managed Agents agent’s web_search and web_fetch tools can reach. Claude Managed Agents sessions that run in a self-hosted sandbox can now attach memory stores. The session viewer in the Claude Console has been redesigned with a timeline minimap, a transcript grouped by model request, and an Inspector panel for session details and cost, raw events, per-tool statistics, mounted resources, and per-thread activity.

  22. OpenAI · Codex app

    Codex app

Includes updates through August 23, 2026. Performance improvements and bug fixes. Eligible local chats interrupted by an app update now resume automatically after the app restarts. Preserved draft formatting and mentions when switching between chats. Fixed a blue composer background on Windows virtual desktops.

  23. OpenAI · Codex app

GitLab support in Codex cloud (Beta)

GitLab support is available in beta on all ChatGPT plans. Connect a GitLab project to Codex cloud, create an environment for it, start tasks from issues or merge requests with @codex, and request one-off or automatic merge request reviews. The integration runs in Codex cloud. A managed workspace admin can disable the connector. GitLab-triggered activity requires permission to configure the applicable webhook. For GitLab Self-Managed or GitLab Dedicated, a workspace admin must configure the connection, and webhook activity requires GitLab 19.0 or later. Codex cannot complete a review when GitLab omits a collapsed or oversize diff. Learn how to use Codex with GitLab.

  24. Google · Gemini app

A new dedicated student hub, study notebooks on mobile, one year of Google AI Pro in the US, or Google AI…

What: We’re introducing a dedicated student hub in the Gemini app to help students easily manage classes and create personalized study notebooks from their own course materials like syllabi. Study notebooks—first launched on desktop in June—are now available on mobile to help students get organized, prepare for class and stay on top of their material. Plus, eligible college students can get one year of Google AI Pro in the US, or Google AI Plus in 140+ countries at no cost. Why: By bringing study notebooks to mobile, creating a centralized student hub, and providing a student plan, we are helping students learn with a personalized study partner.

  25. Google · Antigravity

Stream-JSON input mode, markdown agent explicit rules, and startup credential fixes

Added a setting to open ChatGPT directly in Codex Remote on launch. Added support for standard MCP forms and editable message approvals. Linked folders now open directly in the files sheet. Improved the New Thread project picker to reflect the selected host's current projects. Voice now works directly from existing task composers, connects more reliably, and continues task actions in the background. Improved diff review stability and performance, especially in large workspaces. Added a Retry action when task messages fail to load. Fixed large task responses failing to load. Fixed tasks disappearing or remaining unavailable after being idle, reconnecting, or returning to the task list. Improved host pairing reliability and prevented enrollment checks from freezing the app. Improved response annotations and preserved streamed activity when tasks complete. Canceling or editing a steering message now prevents delivery.
